The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has launched a manhunt operation against Jam Ignacio, who is accused of physically assaulting his fiancée, disc jockey Jellie Aw.
NBI Chief Jaime Santiago confirmed that his agency is actively pursuing Ignacio following the formal complaint filed by Jellie on Thursday, February 13.
During a press briefing, Santiago emphasized that Jellie is determined to seek legal action against Ignacio and refuses to accept any apology from him.
“Hinahabol natin ‘yung kanyang boyfriend. So, I asked her, ‘Baka naman lumuhod sa iyo ito, patawarin mo?’ Sabi niya, hindi, tuturuan daw niya ng leksiyon. She wants the boyfriend to go to jail.”
Santiago added that the NBI is working swiftly to locate Ignacio and hold him accountable for his actions.
“Kung suwe-suwertehin tayo, within the day, makukuha natin ‘yung boyfriend niya para mapanagot sa kasalanan na ginawa niya.”
The case has been endorsed to the NBI’s Violence Against Women and Children Division, under Atty. Yehlen Agus, for further investigation.
Jellie first made the abuse public by posting photos of her swollen and bruised face on social media. In an emotional post, she called out Ignacio directly:
“HAPPY VALENTINE’S? T**a mo Jam Ignacio, mapapatay mo ako. Halos mamatay ako sa ginawa mo! Papakulong kita.”*
Her sister, Jo Aw, also condemned Ignacio in a separate post, revealing that Jellie was trapped inside a locked vehicle while being beaten.
“BIGLA NA LANG PINAG SASAPAK, BINUGBOG HABANG PAUWI ATE KO, WALANG KALABAN-LABAN SA LOOB NG NAKALOCK NA SASAKYAN.”
According to reports, Jellie was able to seek help at a toll gate after Ignacio’s pass encountered an issue, causing a delay. Taking advantage of the situation, Jellie alerted the toll booth personnel, who immediately assisted her in seeking help.
With Ignacio’s current location unknown, the NBI is urging him to surrender and cooperate with the investigation.
Jellie and Ignacio got engaged in November 2024, just four months into their relationship. However, following these alarming events, Jellie has made it clear that she wants justice.
