Award-winning actress Nadine Lustre is standing firm on her beliefs as she officially endorses former Senator Leila de Lima and the Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list for the 2025 midterm elections.
However, along with her endorsement came accusations that she was paid to campaign, to which the actress swiftly fired back.
In an Instagram collaboration post with ML Party-list, Nadine directly addressed speculations, stating: “Hindi kailangan ng bayad kung para sa ikabubuti ng bayan. Ang tunay na paglilingkod, hindi binibili.”
Her statement quickly went viral, earning admiration from her fans and supporters, who commended her for her integrity and strong political stance. Many lauded her refusal to be swayed by financial incentives, with fans commenting: “GO PRESIDENT LABYU!!”, “MAS TAMA PA SA TAMA!”, “Proud of you always, ate kong Nadine!”
In a campaign video, Nadine emphasized the need for accountability in government and urged Filipinos to vote for leaders who uphold justice and integrity.
“Real talk. Sawa na ba kayo? Sawa na sa mga abusado sa kapangyarihan? Sa mga nasa pwesto na hindi marunong magpaliwanag kung saan napunta ang pera ng bayan? At yung drama?”
She further criticized the culture of impunity in politics, adding: “Okay lang sa pelikula at TV, pero ‘pag sa gobyerno na? Ibang usapan na ‘yan. Nakakapagod. Pero, may laban tayo.”
Highlighting de Lima’s wrongful imprisonment, Nadine commended the former senator’s unwavering fight for justice: “Si Manay Leila de Lima, ilang taong kinulong nang walang kasalanan, pero lumaban.”

The video concluded with Nadine encouraging voters to support ML Party-list, which champions justice, accountability, and representation. She also made a symbolic hand gesture—a high-five and thumbs-up, representing ML’s number six slot on the ballot.
Nadine Lustre has long been vocal about social and political issues, making her endorsement significant. She previously supported Leni Robredo’s presidential campaign in 2022, where she actively participated in rallies and campaigns.
Despite Robredo’s loss, Nadine has remained politically engaged, now throwing her support behind de Lima and ML Party-list. Other prominent candidates in ML include former Representatives Teddy Baguilat and Erin Tañada, known advocates for human rights and social reform.
With Nadine’s massive youth following, her endorsement is expected to boost ML Party-list’s visibility significantly, particularly among first-time and progressive voters. As one of the most outspoken celebrities of her generation, Nadine continues to prove that she uses her platform for causes she truly believes in—not for financial gain, but for the future of the country.
