The My Daily Collagen Triathlon is set to return for its fifth edition on March 9, 2025, with organizers aiming to make the endurance sport more accessible to aspiring athletes.
Under the theme “Where Stars Are Born,” the event expects 500 to 600 participants, surpassing last year’s 400-strong turnout.
The competition will gather professional, national, and amateur triathletes from the Philippines and abroad, including participants from the United States and across Asia. Local entries include seasoned competitors and first-time triathletes from as far as Zamboanga.
The My Daily Collagen Triathlon positions itself as a beginner-friendly race, providing a non-intimidating environment for those new to the sport. Sales Officer Oliver Salas emphasized that the event serves as an entry point for those interested in triathlon.
“This triathlon is designed to be a jump-off point for aspiring triathletes,” Salas said. “The race distances are short and manageable, and the community we’ve built over the past five years ensures a welcoming atmosphere.”
Participants can compete in three categories:
- Standard Distance: 1.5KM swim, 40KM bike, 10KM run
- Sprint Distance: 750M swim, 20KM bike, 5KM run
- Standard Distance Relay: 1.5KM swim, 40KM bike, 10KM run (team format)
Athletes must be 16 years old and above to participate.
For its milestone edition, the My Daily Collagen Triathlon will feature an All-Star team composed of broadcast journalist Kara David, actor Kristoffer Martin, and Mojofly vocalist Lougee Basabas-Alejandro. Father-and-son celebrity triathletes Bearwin and Ico Meily will also join the event.
The race marks the brand’s continued expansion into Philippine sports. My Daily Collagen, which previously supported PVL team PLDT High Speed Hitters, aims to introduce health and recovery innovations to more sports in the country.
According to My Daily Collagen President and CEO Anna Perez, the triathlon aligns with the brand’s mission to promote a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
“We are committed to supporting athletes throughout their training journey,” Perez stated. “This event will serve as both a challenge and a celebration of their hard work and progress.”
Beyond the competition, the event promises a festive post-race gathering, reinforcing its goal of fostering camaraderie among participants.
