Kapuso star Mavy Legaspi is stepping into a new milestone in his career as he joins the hosting lineup of ‘Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Edition Collab,’ the first-ever reality show collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA Network.
Mavy will be co-hosting the highly anticipated edition of ‘PBB’ alongside fellow Kapuso star Gabbi Garcia and the show’s veteran hosts, Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Alexa Ilacad, Enchong Dee, Melai Cantiveros, and Kim Chiu. The show is set to premiere in March 2024.
Following the announcement, Mavy took to Instagram Stories to express his gratitude for the opportunity, calling himself the “Kapuso Royal Tropa ni Kuya.”
“I can’t wait to meet the housemates. Can’t wait to learn from the amazing PBB hosts. I won’t let any of you down. Ready to host,” he wrote.
He also thanked his supporters for their overwhelming encouragement as he embarks on this new chapter in his career.
“Thank you for all the love & support, guys. It’s honestly so overwhelming,” he added.
While many fans celebrated his inclusion in the PBB hosting team, some netizens questioned his hosting credentials. In response, Mavy assured that he is open to growth and improvement in his craft.
“I’ll do my very best. I’ll take any constructive criticism moving forward and utilize it to become a better host,” he stated.
However, he dismissed negative and unnecessary comments, advising critics to keep their opinions to themselves.
“All the extra [noise] is just unnecessary, I suggest you keep it to yourself ‘cause it doesn’t work on me,” he said.
Mavy’s hosting skills have been honed through previous engagements, including his stint on GMA Network’s ‘Sarap, ‘Di Ba?’ alongside his mother Carmina Villarroel and twin sister Cassy Legaspi. He also co-hosted ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ and has been the face of several brand and local events.
The exciting announcement of his ‘PBB’ hosting role was made during his guest appearance on ‘It’s Showtime’ on February 21, further cementing his growing presence in the entertainment industry.
