Can love heal all wounds?
This is the question posed by the upcoming romantic-comedy film ‘Everything About My Wife’, a collaboration between CreaZion Studios and GMA Pictures. The highly anticipated film, starring Sam Milby, Jennylyn Mercado, and Dennis Trillo, is set to hit theaters on February 26.
During the film’s media conference on February 13 at Seda Vertis North, Quezon City, the lead stars shared their insights on love, healing, and relationships—topics deeply explored in the movie.
For Sam Milby, love may have the power to heal, but time plays a crucial role in the process.
“Every situation is different. I think that over time, time can heal wounds, but may scar, may peklat,” Sam shared.
He further explained, “There will always be something left behind. Whether it’s a hugot that you can be triggered by or a big lesson that you learned that made you grow. Normally, that’s what happens—it’s a bigger lesson that comes out of it.”
Despite the challenges love brings, Sam remains optimistic.
“Love will always prevail in the end. There are different situations, but over time, it will heal.”
During the press event, Sam also got candid about his first love and past relationships.
Born and raised in Troy, Ohio, USA, Sam moved to the Philippines in 2005, the same year he rose to fame as a housemate in ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother Season 1.
Reflecting on his younger years, he revealed, “My first love, I would say, was my high school girlfriend. Four years kami. Her name is Lindsay Perry.”
However, he admitted that their youth played a role in their eventual breakup.
“Kahit lagi kami magkasama, we just enjoyed our time together. It was four years.”
In showbiz, Sam was previously in high-profile relationships with Anne Curtis, which lasted four years, followed by a two-year romance with model Mari Jasmine. His last known relationship was with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, with whom he was engaged. The two ended their relationship in May 2024.
In ‘Everything About My Wife’, Sam Milby plays Miguel, a notorious casanova. This film marks his reunion with Jennylyn Mercado, nearly a decade after their 2015 rom-com ‘The Prenup’.
Directed by Real Florido, the movie follows a married couple struggling with their relationship, with Miguel seeking the help of another man to seduce his wife in hopes of making her leave him.
Co-starring Dennis Trillo, ‘Everything About My Wife’ promises a mix of romance, humor, and emotional depth, tackling the complexities of relationships, self-discovery, and love’s ability to heal.
With its engaging storyline and stellar cast, ‘Everything About My Wife’ is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas on February 26. Fans can look forward to a film that not only entertains but also sparks conversations about love, loss, and healing.
