Kapuso actor Kelvin Miranda has finally opened up about the cheating allegations that shook his career in 2023.
In an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’ on February 13, 2025, the ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ star addressed the controversy involving his ex-girlfriend Roselle Vytiaco and Kapamilya actress Kira Balinger.
When asked how he dealt with the scandal, Kelvin admitted that he simply accepted the situation.
“Tinanggap ko lang po ‘yung katotohanan sa sarili ko,” he said. “Kasi wala naman akong dapat ipaliwanag kasi alam ko ‘yung totoo.”
The actor acknowledged that he was judged harshly when the issue first broke out, making it difficult for him to defend himself.
“And hindi ko kailangan ipagtanggol ‘yung sarili ko sa taong—ang hirap magsalita, e—sa taong alam niya kung hanggang saan ako at hanggang saan ‘yung kaya kong ibigay.”
Kelvin also highlighted how social media played a major role in amplifying the controversy.
“Umabot doon sa punto na, wala, online world na ngayon,” he remarked. “So, konting conflict, konting misunderstanding, kayang palakihin, kayang lumala, lalo’t sa samu’t saring pagsasawsaw ng mga tao sa social media.”
The controversy began on January 6, 2023, when Roselle publicly accused Kelvin of infidelity, claiming that he had an affair with Kira Balinger during the filming of their movie Poon. She even released alleged screenshots of their conversations, which quickly went viral.
Kira Balinger addressed the accusations in March 2023, firmly denying any wrongdoing. She also emphasized that she was unaware of Kelvin’s relationship at the time. While she admitted to exchanging messages with Kelvin, she clarified that their interaction never went beyond that. Kira expressed her frustration about being dragged into the scandal, calling it unfair.
By May 13, 2024, Kira revealed that she had already forgiven Kelvin for the controversy that linked them together. Despite the negative experience, she shared that it made her stronger. Kira also appreciated that Kelvin personally apologized to her.
Now, Kelvin is shifting his focus to his acting career. He is set to star in GMA Network’s highly anticipated fantasy series ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’, where he plays a significant role.
Meanwhile, Kira Balinger continues to thrive in her acting career and has expressed that she has moved on from the issue.
As for Roselle Vytiaco, she has remained private since the controversy, choosing to stay away from the limelight.
