For KD Estrada and Alexa Ilacad, Hong Kong is more than just a travel destination—it’s a city filled with meaningful milestones in their career and personal journey.
The KDLex love team shared that Hong Kong has been the setting for many of their “firsts”, including their international film debut, ‘Toss Coin,’ a microfilm shot in the city in 2023. The project was part of the Hong Kong Tourism Board-led series “Hong Kong in the Lens by Asian Directors.”
Additionally, their ‘Be With U’ music video was also filmed in Hong Kong, further strengthening their connection to the city.
Beyond work, KD and Alexa frequently visit Hong Kong for leisure, with KD describing it as a “great destination.”
“If you’re a foodie, you can spend the trip just eating. If you’re a shopaholic, you can explore malls, outlets, and markets with unlimited choices,” KD shared.
Meanwhile, Alexa highlighted how Hong Kong offers everything she loves, making it her ideal getaway.
“Lahat ng gusto ko at kailangan ko, nasa Hong Kong. It’s also very family-friendly,” she said.
Adding to her cherished memories in the city, Alexa Ilacad recently announced that she will celebrate her 25th birthday in Hong Kong on February 26.
The love team’s affinity for the city reflects the growing bond between Filipino travelers and Hong Kong. In November 2024, the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) proudly welcomed its one-millionth Filipino visitor, marking a new milestone in tourism.
In recent years, Hong Kong has become an increasingly popular destination for Filipinos, thanks to its world-class attractions, new travel experiences, and celebrity-led promotions.
Aside from KDLex’s ‘Be With U’ music video, the city also served as the backdrop for ‘Under Parallel Skies,’ a film starring Janella Salvador and Thai actor Win Metawin.
Additionally, culinary collaborations such as the Four Hands Dinner with chefs Margarita Forés and Vicky Cheng have introduced Hong Kong’s vibrant food culture to Filipino audiences, leading up to the highly anticipated Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival.
To showcase even more of the city’s hidden gems, the Hong Kong Tourism Board launched the ‘Of Course, Hong Kong’ campaign, featuring four Hong Kong-based Filipinos who shared their favorite spots and experiences in the city.
