Actor Derek Ramsay has spoken out against Philmar Alipayo, urging him to take responsibility amid the ongoing controversy involving Andi Eigenmann and their Swedish friend, Pernilla Sjöo.
The issue erupted after Eigenmann posted cryptic messages online, which many interpreted as a callout against Sjöo, following the revelation that Alipayo and Sjöo had matching tattoos with the numbers “224”—symbolizing “Today, Tomorrow, Forever.”
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Ramsay vehemently defended Sjöo, whom he described as deeply affected by the backlash.
“She (Pernilla) is happily in a relationship. Alam ng boyfriend niya ang lahat… Ang mali rito, irresponsible posting, acting on emotions without thinking.”
Ramsay didn’t hold back in criticizing Alipayo’s response to the issue, highlighting what he perceived as a lack of accountability.
“And what does he say? ‘Okay na kami. This should all have been handled in private. Sana okay na rin kayo.’ Hindi. Hindi ako okay!”
“Kasama ako doon sa ‘kayo’ kasi ‘yung kaibigan ko na matalik, sinaktan mo. Hindi ka man lang mag-apologize pero inaamin mo sa statement mo na mali nga. This should have all been handled in private. So why don’t you have some decency and show some respect to Pernilla and clear her name?”
Ramsay also revealed that Sjöo attempted to apologize and explain the situation, but instead, she became the target of intense online hate and accusations of being a “homewrecker.”
“She’s always been there for them whenever Andi and Philmar had fights. That’s why this hurts her even more.”
Ramsay also called out Eigenmann, saying she should have handled the situation privately instead of fueling public speculation.
“Andi, mali ka. Babae ka, hindi kita aawayin. But that was very irresponsible of you. You don’t know how a post like that can really destroy somebody.”
He also expressed concern over Sjöo’s mental health, revealing that she has been receiving threats online.
“Meanwhile, this poor lady is hiding, afraid for her life because she’s getting threats. Even her boyfriend is affected because all his relatives are in Siargao.”
Ramsay then directed his strongest statement yet to Alipayo, urging him to step up and take accountability for the controversy.
“The problem is, you got a tattoo with Pern. That’s 80% your fault. And for you not to have the balls to stand up and say, ‘It’s all on me, I wronged my wife, I wronged my friend’—own it! Maybe then, I will have some respect for you.”
Despite the issue, Alipayo recently posted a video with Eigenmann and their children, seemingly confirming that they have reconciled. However, Ramsay remains firm in his stance, emphasizing the need for transparency and an apology for Sjöo to clear her name.
As of now, neither Eigenmann nor Alipayo has responded to Ramsay’s statements.
