After more than a decade, Carlo Aquino has officially signed back with Viva Artists Agency (VAA), calling it a homecoming to the management team that handled his career from 2005 to 2011.
The contract signing took place on February 20, 2025, marking a new chapter for the award-winning actor.
During a media conference, Carlo shared the main reason behind his decision to return to Viva, emphasizing the unwavering support and warmth he received from the company’s executives.
Yun ang deciding factor,” he said.
Beyond this, Carlo pointed out how Viva’s diverse lineup of films influenced his decision.
The actor also highlighted his strong ties with Boss Vic del Rosario, one of Viva’s top executives.
Now that he is officially back under Viva Artists Agency, Carlo expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with new leading ladies.
“Yung future ko naman with them, sinabi nila na ibi-build talaga na maganda kasi nga marami rin silang leading ladies na puwedeng mai-partner din sa akin,” he shared.
Apart from acting, Carlo revealed that Viva is open to his creative input, allowing him to pitch his own film ideas.
His remark referred to Viva’s constant production of films, particularly those available on VMX Philippines, the company’s own streaming platform.
Carlo’s return to Viva follows a streak of successful films, particularly his on-screen partnership with Julia Barretto in “Expensive Candy” (2022) and “Hold Me Close” (2024), the latter being an official entry to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Even before formally rejoining VAA, Carlo remained active in Viva Films productions, starring in notable movies such as: Baler (2008) with Anne Curtis, Tumbok (2011) with Cristine Reyes, Meet Me In St. Gallen (2018) with Bela Padilla, Ulan (2019) with Nadine Lustre.
With his official comeback, Carlo is expected to take on more diverse and challenging roles, further solidifying his reputation as one of the country’s top leading men.
While specific details about his upcoming projects have yet to be announced, Carlo’s return to Viva Artists Agency signals a new beginning for his career, filled with exciting collaborations and fresh opportunities.
“This is a new journey, and I’m looking forward to everything that’s ahead,” Carlo said, eager to embrace his future under the management that helped shape his career years ago.
