Actor Baron Geisler was arrested and briefly detained in Mandaue City, Cebu on February 22 after allegedly causing a disturbance while intoxicated. He was later released after paying a ₱500 fine.
According to Bombo Radyo Cebu, the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) received a report around 3 a.m. regarding Geisler’s disruptive behavior. Police Lt. Col. Mercy Villaro, spokesperson for the MCPO, confirmed that the actor was under the influence of alcohol and was reportedly throwing objects at a residence, prompting his brothers-in-law to call the police.
Geisler was detained for violating Mandaue City Ordinance No. 11-2008-434, which penalizes public drunkenness and severe intoxication. His wife later posted bail, securing his release within a few hours.
Following the incident, the ‘Incognito’ actor issued a statement on social media, claiming that some reports misrepresented the situation.
“Breaking my silence. There’s a lot of misinformation circulating, especially from news outlets that failed to verify the facts before reporting. Irresponsible journalism has blown things out of proportion, creating unnecessary confusion,” Geisler wrote.
He assured the public of his well-being and stated that he is taking legal steps regarding the matter.
“I want to make it clear—I’m okay, and I’m seeking legal advice to address this properly. To those who continue to stand by me, thank you. Your support means everything,” he added.
The incident has sparked speculation about whether Geisler—who has publicly shared his struggles with alcohol addiction—has suffered a relapse. Over the past few years, the actor has spoken about his journey to sobriety and his faith, even using his platform to inspire others.
As of now, Geisler has not provided further details regarding the circumstances of his arrest, and it remains unclear if he will pursue legal action against the media outlets that reported on the incident.
