Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards is gearing up for a new role as a host for an upcoming GMA Network show.
In a recent report on ’24 Oras’, entertainment correspondent Nelson Canlas shared that Alden will temporarily pause his acting career to focus on the new project, which is set to begin production in March and air by June.
“I’ll be a host for a show for GMA. I think we’ll start grinding by March, and then it will air on June,” Alden revealed during the interview. He added, “My last was Battle of the Judges, and it really did well, so now it’s another new concept.”
Richards has previously showcased his hosting skills, including his much-discussed performance during the Miss Universe Philippines 2024 event at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. His unique hosting style, which some viewers found intense, became a viral topic and inspired numerous memes on social media.
Alden recently starred in the successful primetime series ‘Pulang Araw’ alongside Barbie Forteza, Sanya Lopez, David Licauco, and Dennis Trillo. His film ‘Hello, Love, Again’, co-starring Kathryn Bernardo, made history as the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, achieving record-breaking sales both in the Philippines and abroad.
While details of the new show remain under wraps, it may be connected to GMA Network’s recently unveiled program ‘Stars on the Dance Floor’, which was announced during the network’s New Year countdown special.
