‘The Voice USA’ champion Sofronio Vasquez has expressed his gratitude to ‘It’s Showtime’ for giving him a new opportunity after his run in ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ (TNT) ended without a title.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, January 6, Sofronio revealed that the popular noontime show hired him as a vocal coach after his TNT journey concluded in 2019.
“Kumbaga sinabi ko na ‘I need work.’ So, kinuha nila ako as vocal coach. […]
He clarified that his coaching role focuses more on performance techniques rather than technical vocal training.
Before his international success, Sofronio was a ‘TNT’ finalist who gained attention for his powerful performances. Returning to the It’s Showtime studio brought back emotional memories of where his journey began.
“I got emotional stepping back into the studio because this was where I started and where they trusted me,” he said.
