The highly anticipated romantic-comedy series ‘My Ilonggo Girl’ debuted to strong ratings during its world premiere on January 13.
According to NUTAM People Ratings, the GMA Prime series earned a combined rating of 6.5% (6.0% from GMA Network and 0.5% from GTV), significantly outperforming its competitor ‘PBB Gen 11 Big 4Ever’, which garnered only 3.1%.
The pilot episode introduced viewers to Venice (Jillian Ward), a popular actress, and her double, Tata (also portrayed by Jillian), a cheerful La Paz Batchoy vendor. Jillian’s dual performance drew praise from both viewers and netizens, who quickly took to social media to share their reactions.
The hashtag #MyIlonggoGirl trended on X (formerly Twitter) as fans raved about the show’s heartwarming tone and stellar performances. Some viewers compared the show to a K-drama, applauding its polished visuals and engaging storyline.
Ahead of the premiere, Michael Sager, who plays the leading man Francis, shared a sweet message on Instagram, expressing his pride in Jillian Ward’s performance and dedication to the project.
