Former comedian Allan “Mura” Padua, along with his father, underwent a medical check-up and received assistance from GMA Kapuso Foundation during its relief operations in the Bicol Region.
In an episode of ’24 Oras’ aired last Friday, Mura spoke about his continuing struggles after sustaining a hip injury due to an accident in 2010. Despite recovering, he still experiences mobility issues because one leg is now shorter.
Adding to his hardships, Mura lost his home in Ligao City, Albay, to a fire in April 2024. Fortunately, support from generous donors helped him slowly rebuild his life.
Ang hirap pag wala ka talagang sariling bahay,” he said.
As part of its assistance, the GMA Kapuso Foundation brought Ligao City Health Officer Dr. Marissa Dela Cerna to conduct a medical assessment of Mura and his father.
The doctor noted that Mura’s father has a broken hip and requires surgery to insert metal implants. However, his father has declined the procedure.
To support their recovery, the Ligao City Health Office provides the family with monthly supplies of medicine and vitamins. Additionally, GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed groceries and hygiene kits to the family.
Mura expressed his gratitude and shared his hopes to regain his strength and return to his duties as a provider for his family.
Kung sakali, baka pwede pa maging artista ulit,” he said.
