Rival revenge thriller series ‘Lavender Fields’ and “Widow’s War” engaged in a tightly contested ratings battle during their finale week.
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People ratings, the Kapamilya teleserye and its Kapuso counterpart switched in leading their timeslot, showcasing an intense rivalry as they wrapped up their respective series.
On Monday, January 13, “Widow’s War” began the finale week on top with an 8.1 percent rating, edging out ‘Lavender Fields,’ which scored 7.6 percent.
However, on Tuesday, January 14, ‘Lavender Fields’ claimed the lead, registering an 8.4 percent rating, 0.6 percent higher than “Widow’s War,” which dropped to 7.6 percent.
The Jodi Sta. Maria-led Lavender Fields maintained its lead on Wednesday, January 15, with a 7.9 percent rating, narrowly surpassing “Widow’s War,” which posted 7.7 percent.
On Thursday, January 16, during their penultimate episodes, “Widow’s War” regained the top spot, earning an 8.9 percent rating, just 0.2 percent ahead of ‘Lavender Fields,’ which scored 8.7 percent.
Finally, on Friday, January 17, “Widow’s War” emerged victorious in the overall finale ratings, achieving a 9.2 percent rating, while Lavender Fields concluded its run with 8.6 percent. These numbers, however, include aggregated ratings from delayed telecasts.
When considering same-timeslot ratings only, ‘Lavender Fields’ claimed a decisive victory.
On Monday, January 13, ‘Lavender Fields’ led with 7.6 percent, 0.5 percent ahead of “Widow’s War,” which garnered 7.1 percent.
The Kapamilya series further extended its lead on Tuesday, January 14, with an 8.4 percent rating compared to “Widow’s War’s” 7.1 percent.
For the finale on Friday, January 17, ‘Lavender Fields’ delivered a strong finish, improving to 8.7 percent and beating “Widow’s War,” which ended with an 8.0 percent same-timeslot rating.
This closely fought battle highlights the fierce competition between the two shows, with both gaining dedicated followings throughout their runs.
