Julia Barretto is set to dominate 2025 with a packed schedule of exciting projects: the ABS-CBN thriller ‘What Lies Beneath’, the primetime drama ‘Hello Heaven’, and the reality talent search ‘Artista Academy’.
The actress, who enjoyed a highly successful 2024, shared her enthusiasm for the year ahead during a solo media conference, describing her eagerness to take on diverse roles.
Barretto will headline ‘What Lies Beneath’, an upcoming ABS-CBN series described as a gripping and unique story that breaks away from the traditional love stories often seen in recent years.
“The story is really different,” Barretto shared. “We’re refreshing our lineup next year with stories as unique and thrilling as this.”
The series boasts a star-studded cast, including Bela Padilla, Janella Salvador, Charlie Dizon, Jake Cuenca, Jameson Blake, and JM de Guzman. Plot details remain under wraps, but the lineup has sparked excitement among fans.
In ‘Hello Heaven’, Barretto will once again collaborate with award-winning filmmaker Antoinette Jadaone, who directed her in the 2017 romantic film ‘Love You to the Stars and Back.’
“We’ve always talked about working together again, and now we’ll get to do that for an extended period since Hello Heaven is also a series,” Barretto said.
Further information about the show’s storyline and cast is yet to be revealed.
Barretto will step into the world of hosting with ‘Artista Academy’, a reality show aimed at discovering the next big names in the entertainment industry.
“I’m excited to prepare for this new challenge in January,” she shared, expressing her determination to make the most of this opportunity.
Looking back on 2024, Barretto expressed her gratitude for the successful projects she undertook, including the web series ‘Secret Ingredient’ and the film ‘Un/Happy For You’.
“I’m thankful to God for the grace and blessings I received this year,” she said. “It makes the whole journey worth it.”
Barretto also reflected on the hard work she’s put into her career since childhood.
“I’ve been doing this since I was a kid. I feel like I’ve been working so hard and giving it all every day. Being rewarded somehow is humbling and motivates me to keep going,” she added.
