Kapuso stars Jillian Ward and Michael Sager opened up about the qualities they admire in each other during the media conference for their upcoming series ‘My Ilonggo Girl’ on January 9 at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City.
Michael expressed his gratitude for Jillian’s guidance, sharing that she has given him meaningful advice about his career.
“I was grateful because she gave me advice of what to do in the future, when I’m on set, when I’m working with others. And ‘yong advice na ‘yon was true and talagang authentic, and I appreciated it,” Michael shared.
He also highlighted how Jillian’s support makes work more enjoyable, especially during challenging scenes.
“That’s important po kasi minsan, nahihirapan ka, she’s always there by my side, and I really appreciate that, Jill,” he added.
Meanwhile, Jillian praised Michael for his attentiveness and willingness to learn.
“Sabi niya nga, he finds me helpful, but I think it’s because attentive lang siya. He really listens kung ano man ang sasabihin sa kaniya ng mga ka-work niya, ng mga kasama niya,” Jillian said.
She also commended Michael’s strong work ethic and faith.
“He always talks about God and he always prays. He’s very religious,” Jillian noted.
The two previously worked together in ‘Abot Kamay Na Pangarap’, but not as a love team. ‘My Ilonggo Girl’ marks their first pairing as an on-screen couple.
The romantic-comedy series is set to premiere on January 13 and will air Monday to Friday at 9:35 p.m. on GMA Network.
