Veteran actress Jan Marini shed light on her past misunderstanding with Claudine Barretto, which had long puzzled fans of the two iconic stars.
During her recent guest appearance on GTV’s ‘Lutong Bahay’ alongside her husband, Gerard Pizarras, Jan was asked about her fallout with Claudine.
The question came up during the show’s ‘Kitchen-terrogate’ segment, where co-host Mikee Quintos inquired: “I-reveal kung ano ang dahilan sa alitan ninyo ni Ms. Claudine Barretto”
Caught off guard, the couple chose to remain tight-lipped. “That’s the best,” Gerard quipped, signaling their decision to avoid addressing the issue further.
The history of Jan and Claudine’s rift dates back to 1999. In a 2015 interview, Jan briefly addressed the incident, describing it as a case of miscommunication.
“Pero alam mo, ang tingin ko talaga, ano lang ‘yon, eh. Kumbaga, miscommunication lang,” Jan shared. “Hindi ko alam, eh. Basta isang araw, isang taping day, sinabi na lang sa akin na, ‘Uy, galit sa ‘yo si Clau.’ Sabi ko naman, baka lang masama ang gising.”
Despite the intrigue surrounding the incident, Jan emphasized that the issue was long resolved and encouraged everyone to move forward.
“We’re older now, and this is something that ended a long time ago,” she said.
Fans of the two actresses, who were once close friends, continue to hope for a rekindling of their bond. However, for Jan, the focus remains on peace and leaving the past behind.
