As 2025 begins, ‘It’s Showtime’ celebrates another milestone with its continued broadcast on GMA Network.
A formal contract signing is expected this January, solidifying the partnership between the Kapamilya noontime show and the Kapuso network.
The collaboration has been mutually beneficial for GMA Network and ABS-CBN, with ‘It’s Showtime’ offering a wide-reaching platform for promoting talents and programs. Notably, the show became a venue to promote the MMFF 2024 film ‘Green Bones’, despite Vice Ganda’s own entry, ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, being part of the festival.
On December 31, 2024, ‘It’s Showtime’ aired its final episode on GTV, where it had been simulcast since July 2023. The noon slot on GTV will now feature the new block ‘Noontime Movie Hits’, which premieres on January 1, 2025.
The move comes after GMA Network and ABS-CBN reached a new agreement that allows ‘It’s Showtime’ to air exclusively on GMA Network’s flagship channel. This marks a historic achievement for the Kapamilya program, as it becomes the first ABS-CBN show to secure a regular noontime slot on GMA Network.
From January 1, 2025, ‘It’s Showtime’ will air on GMA Network, ALLTV, A2Z Channel 11, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and iWantTFC. International audiences can watch via The Filipino Channel (TFC) and GMA Pinoy TV.
‘It’s Showtime’ first entered GMA Network’s turf in July 2023, airing on GTV after ending its blocktime arrangement with TV5. The setup allowed GMA Network to run two noontime programs: ‘It’s Showtime’ on GTV and TAPE Inc.’s ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ on GMA Network’s main channel. After ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ was canceled in March 2024, ‘It’s Showtime’ transitioned to GMA Network’s primary channel, making television history.
Vice Ganda also has reason to celebrate as his MMFF 2024 entry, ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, emerged as the festival’s top-grossing film. The comedy-drama, co-starring Jhong Hilario, Kulot, and Argus, is set to screen in three Golden Village cinemas in Singapore — GV Plaza, GV Paya Lebar, and GV Yishun — starting January 2, 2025.
Produced by The IdeaFirst Company and ABS-CBN Film Productions, Inc. (Star Cinema), the film has garnered critical and commercial success, further solidifying Vice Ganda’s star power.
