‘Eat Bulaga’ rang in 2025 with a grander setup, broadcasting live from their newly renovated and larger studio.
As the longest-running noontime show, the Dabarkads celebrated the New Year with their audience from Studio 4 of the TV5 Media Center on Reliance Street, Mandaluyong City.
“Sobrang laki, mga Dabarkads, at mas kumportable na ang mga ka-bonding natin dito sa studio,” said Maine Mendoza, expressing her delight over the more spacious venue.
Joey de Leon added, “Mga kaibigan, huwag nating kalimutan. Dito pa rin kami sa Studio 4 ng TV5 Media Center para sa isang libo’t isang tuwa na mag-aapatnapu’t anim na taon na ngayong 2025!”
Addressing earlier speculations that the show might transfer to the Meralco Theater, Vic Sotto clarified that the Eat Bulaga team chose to renovate their existing studio instead. “Kitang-kita na po namin ang ganda ng studio, parang ang luwag-luwag. Mas lumaki!” said Jose Manalo, who reported live from Barangay Pasig City.
Meanwhile, Ryan Agoncillo shared his excitement about the revamped space, even joking about having enough room to run around.
The ‘Eat Bulaga’ team had more reasons to celebrate as Vic Sotto’s latest film, ‘The Kingdom’, achieved box-office success. Vic humorously hinted at a career shift, saying he’s considering dramatic roles after his serious performance in the film.
Now in its 46th year, ‘Eat Bulaga’ remains steadfast in its goal to celebrate its 50th anniversary, a milestone its hosts have long envisioned.
Adding to their celebrations, TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon) secured another legal win against TAPE Inc. and GMA Network. The Court of Appeals upheld their rights to the Eat Bulaga trademark, dismissing claims by TAPE and GMA.
This ruling reinforces TVJ’s ownership of the iconic noontime show’s title amid allegations of copyright infringement and unfair competition.
