Amid the social media frenzy following Barbie Forteza’s announcement of her breakup with long-time boyfriend Jak Roberto, Kapuso star David Licauco posted a casual yet meaningful message, which many interpreted as a subtle response to the ongoing chatter.
Licauco shared a solo photo of himself in relaxed attire on Instagram, captioned simply: “Chill lang.”
The post quickly gained traction, attracting thousands of likes and comments. Fans of the ‘Pulang Araw’ star and the popular BarDa (Barbie-David) love team were quick to defend him, emphasizing that Licauco had no involvement in Forteza and Roberto’s breakup.
“Let’s not drag David into this. Chill lang talaga siya,” commented one netizen.

Several fans of the BarDa pairing also expressed their hopes that the real-life chemistry between Licauco and Forteza could blossom, now that Forteza has confirmed her single status.
On January 2, Forteza shared a heartfelt Instagram post announcing the end of her seven-year relationship with Roberto. The post, which expressed gratitude for their time together, left netizens stunned. Meanwhile, Roberto has remained silent on the issue.
Licauco’s recent post added fuel to the ongoing buzz surrounding his love life. In a December 15 livestream promoting his coffee business, Good Drip, the actor reportedly joked about “looking for a new girlfriend.”
Additionally, a December Instagram Story by Joy Marcelo, Sparkle’s first vice president, showed a photo with Licauco and fellow Kapuso talent Nikki Co, with the caption: “Mga single ngayong Pasko!!!”
Licauco had previously confirmed he was in a relationship during a June 2024 interview on ‘Fast Talk With Boy Abunda’, but he did not disclose further details about his then-partner.
Licauco and Forteza’s pairing gained massive popularity after their team-up in GMA Network’s ‘Maria Clara at Ibarra’, which was followed by ‘Maging Sino Ka Man’, ‘Pulang Araw’, and the film ‘That Kind of Love’.
