Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin has addressed the growing public interest in his relationship with actress Julia Montes, revealing his efforts to be more open about their romance.
In the January 12 episode of ‘Toni Talks’, Coco admitted that although Julia hasn’t directly asked him to go public, he senses her desire for their relationship to be acknowledged.
“Siyempre minsan alam ko, hindi man niya sa akin sinasabi, na para bang ‘Ano ‘to? Habambuhay na lang na para bang never mo akong [ipapakilala]?’” Coco shared.
He confessed that being expressive about his feelings is not second nature to him.
“One time nga, ‘yong ‘Saving Grace,’ edi pumunta ako do’n may bulaklak. Ayaw ko na ako ang mag-abot. […] Hindi ko personalidad. Sabi ko talaga, ‘Iabot n’yo na.’ E, siyempre gusto nila ako mag-abot. Parang ang awkward sa akin,” Coco recounted.
Host Toni Gonzaga empathized with Coco, noting that some people are naturally reserved when it comes to showing emotions.
In recent years, Coco has become more public with his relationship, sharing photos from their travels and attending events with Julia.
Coco and Julia have been romantically linked since 2011, but the actor only confirmed their relationship in May 2023. Despite their preference for privacy, the couple gradually opened up, even exchanging heartfelt praises for each other in interviews. In an October 2023 vlog with Bernadette Sembrano, Julia described Coco as an answered prayer.
