Newcomer Antonio Vinzon is set to make his acting debut in GMA Network’s highly anticipated primetime series ‘Mga Batang Riles’, airing on January 6, 2025.
Antonio, who stands at an impressive 6’2″, is the son of veteran actor Roi Vinzon and former band vocalist Jeany David-Vinzon.
In our exclusive interview at the media conference held at GMA Network Studio 7 in Quezon City on December 20, Antonio shared how he landed his role:
This marks Antonio’s first major acting role, which he admitted feels “tailor-made” for him. Even his family was surprised at how quickly he secured a lead role. His sister, Lala Vinzon, who is pursuing law, has been a strong supporter, while his father Roi, who is currently running for a political post in Benguet, shared valuable advice with his son.
Feel like you’re home. And second home mo na ‘yan… Maging mabait ka lang sa mga tao. Maging better as you, as a person at galingan mo ‘yung craft mo. Maging seryoso ka kapag sa set. Kapag action, go mo na ‘yan. Ibigay mo na lahat,” Roi advised his son.
Antonio expressed his gratitude for his father’s guidance: “So ayun, natutuwa po si Papa para sa akin na makasali sa Mga Batang Riles kasi first time ko rin po ito.”
When asked about the “nepo baby” label often attached to children of celebrities, Antonio acknowledged the pressure but remained determined to prove his worth.
Antonio stars alongside Miguel Tanfelix, Kokoy De Santos, Raheel Bhyria, and Bruce Roeland in ‘Mga Batang Riles’, an action-drama series that promises compelling storytelling and an ensemble of talented young stars.
