P-pop sensation SB19 and its members dominated the 10th Wish Music Awards on Sunday, January 28, at the Araneta Coliseum, taking home a total of eight awards for their group and solo efforts.
The group’s collaboration with Gloc-9, ‘Kalakal’, earned the Wish Song Collaboration of the Year, while their hit Ilaw was awarded Ballad Performance of the Year.
The awards night also highlighted the individual achievements of SB19’s members. Stell Ajero was a standout, clinching Wisher’s Choice, Wish Breakthrough Artist, and Ballad Song of the Year for his solo track ‘Di Ko Masabi’.
“Super thankful. Hindi ko alam ano words kailangan ko gamitin to express how thankful I am and how happy I am right now. Gusto ko lang pasalamatan lahat ng tao behind this,” Stell said in an interview.
Other members also brought home major awards. Felip Jhon Suson’s ‘Kanako’ won Rock/Alternative Song of the Year, while Josh Cullen Santos’ ‘Get Right’ was recognized as Hip-hop Song of the Year. Meanwhile, Pablo, the group’s leader, was honored as Wish Artist of the Year.
The night also celebrated other major artists. BINI, the nation’s premier girl group, won three awards, including Pop Song of the Year for ‘Pantropiko’ and Wish Group of the Year.
Other notable winners included Arthur Nery, Yeng Constantino, Dilaw, Dionela, and Zack Tabudlo. International artist Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas received the KDR Icon of the Year award, while Ogie Alcasid was honored with the KDR Icon of Musical Excellence.
The awards ceremony paid tribute to a wide variety of musical genres, honoring viral Wishclusive performances and radio-charting hits from the past year.
