Unkabogable star Vice Ganda admitted during a press conference that he was initially hesitant to collaborate with Eugene Domingo in their upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2024 entry, ‘And The Breadwinner Is….’
The film is a joint production of Star Cinema and ABS-CBN Studios, directed by Jun Lana.
Eugene Domingo plays a key supporting role in the movie, which Vice revealed was not part of his original vision for their first project together.
Despite Vice’s initial hesitation, Eugene graciously accepted the role, which made Vice appreciate her even more. Sige!,” Vice shared.
Vice expressed deep pride in ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’, describing it as a very personal project.
The comedian-actor also opened up about the challenges he faced in delivering dramatic scenes, especially those involving Eugene and Malou de Guzman, who plays his mother in the film. “I wasn’t scared to get out of my comfort zone.
Vice revealed that he specifically requested Gladys Reyes and Jhong Hilario to join the film’s cast. Very close ako sa kanilang dalawa kasi magaling sila sa drama,” Vice said.
The star-studded cast also includes Joel Torre, Kokoy de Santos, Maris Racal, Anthony Jennings, Via Antonio, MC Muah, Lassy Marquez, Kiko Matos, and ‘It’s Showtime’ child stars Argus and Kulot.
As one of the most anticipated MMFF 2024 entries, ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ combines heartfelt drama with comedy, promising a movie that audiences will connect with on multiple levels. Vice assured fans that the film will deliver both laughter and tears, with performances that showcase the depth of the cast’s talent.
