Kapuso star Marian Rivera recently looked back and laughed at her now-iconic ‘Unfaithful’ meme during a special celebration with her loyal DongYan fans.
Marian and her husband, Dingdong Dantes, marked their 10th wedding anniversary on December 14 with a Team DongYan Christmas Party in Poblacion, Makati City. During the event, the couple engaged in a fun Q&A session with their fans, where Dingdong asked Marian, “What’s your favorite meme of yourself?”
Without hesitation, Marian reenacted the viral moment and quipped: “Meme? Story of my life… Bigyan niyo ako ng chance, music please.”
The viral meme features Marian’s performance of Rihanna’s hit song ‘Unfaithful’ during the farewell event of the 2013 Kapuso series ‘Temptation of Wife’, where she starred as the lead actress. The clip became a favorite online for its candid charm, with fans repeatedly sharing and turning it into a meme.
Explaining the backstory, Marian shared, “Tawang-tawa kasi ako doon. Galing ako ng taping noon, sobrang puyat ako. Sabi ko, ‘Hindi ko alam itong kantang ‘to, bahala na ‘to.’ Tuwing nakikita ko ‘yun, natatawa ako sa sarili ko.”
Despite the playful teasing over her meme, Marian proudly highlighted her daughter Zia’s musical talent, adding, “Ayun lang, nabawi naman po ng anak ko.” Zia has recently gone viral for her impressive singing and dancing skills, showcasing her natural confidence and artistry.
Earlier this month, during an interview on 24 Oras, Marian shared her proud “mom moment” as Zia performed for a large audience for the first time.
She recalled always being there to support her rehearsals and performances, saying: “Naku, hindi ako magsasawang pakinggan ‘yung boses ng anak ko. Kasi every time na papasok siya and may rehearsal siya, nandoon talaga ako sa likod niya.”
Marian emphasized that both she and Dingdong are all-out in supporting Zia’s passions. “Sabi ko pa nga kay Zia, palagi niyang tatandaan na all-out kami ng daddy niya sa kanya. Sa kahit anong gusto niyang gawin, susuportahan namin siya.”
While Marian’s ‘Unfaithful’ performance continues to trend and bring laughter, it’s clear that she embraces her viral fame with grace and humor.
