Comedian and content creator Joel Ravanera, widely known as ‘Malupiton,’ has confirmed that he will be starring in his own debut film.
In an exclusive interview on the latest episode of ‘Toni Talks’ on December 1, Ravanera shared details about the upcoming project, revealing that filming is already underway.
“Mayro’n po kaming ginagawang movie ngayon. […] Actually, third day shoot na po namin kahapon. Ang title po nito ‘He’s Dating A Bold Star,’” said Malupiton during the interview.
He also revealed that he will play the lead male role in the film, with actress Analyn Barro as his leading lady.
Malupiton’s rise to fame has been fueled by his viral content on social media, where he often collaborates with his friends from the group Kolokoys TV. Known for his hilarious gibberish rap videos and skits involving pranks on his customers, his entertaining style has garnered a large following. Many fans have even credited his humor with helping them through difficult moments.
In the interview, Ravanera shared that he started out as a content creator with Kolokoys TV, whose mission is to provide entertainment and relief from stress for their audience. His popular character, Malupiton, is known for being tough, bold, and playful, capturing the attention of viewers across social media platforms.
Although Ravanera once dreamed of becoming a lawyer, financial constraints prevented him from pursuing that path. Instead, he worked a variety of jobs, including selling turon and passport covers, before taking the risk of diving into content creation. It wasn’t until 2022 that his social media career began to pay off significantly, leading him to dedicate more time and effort into producing content.
