Kim Atienza reaffirmed his commitment to GMA Network by renewing his three-year contract on December 2.
During a media conference in Quezon City on Monday, Atienza expressed his gratitude and excitement for the future.
“All I can say is I’m just honored and so humbled na kailangan niyo pa ako at this point. Ako po ay so inspired,” said Kuya Kim, reflecting on his ongoing relationship with GMA.
He added, “My stay here in GMA, I’m just having so much fun. I’m feeling so relevant, and I’m feeling so used to it in a good way for me to continue for these coming three years. I look forward to it the most. I know these three years will pass so fast again like the past three years, and we shall be sitting at this desk again, and I will be signing another three-year contract again.”
In addition to his contract renewal, Atienza debuted his new infotainment program, ‘Dami Mong Alam, Kuya Kim,’ which premiered on November 30.
However, when questioned about rumors that his noontime variety program, ‘TicToClock,’ would replace ‘It’s Showtime’ on GMA Network in January 2025, Atienza confirmed he was aware of ongoing negotiations but could not provide further details.
“Ang alam ko ay may nangyayaring negotiation ngayon ang It’s Showtime and GMA. Yun lang ang alam ko sa ngayon,” he stated.
This echoes a previous statement from GMA Network Senior Vice President, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, who confirmed in November that the network was in the process of negotiating the renewal of ‘It’s Showtime.’ The show premiered on GMA Network on April 6, 2024, to much fanfare, and fans are eager to see what the future holds for the program.
