Jennylyn Mercado is over the moon with her husband Dennis Trillo’s recent victory as Best Actor at the MMFF 50 for his performance in ‘Green Bones’.
During an interview, she shared her heartfelt reaction to her husband’s achievement, which had her cheering loudly in the audience.
“Siyempre, I’m rooting for him. Bilang asawa, talagang Dennis, ikaw ‘yan. Pero siyempre, bahala na ang mga jurors kung ano ang magiging desisyon nila,” Jennylyn said with a laugh, proud of Dennis’s well-deserved win.
Known as Dennis’s number one critic, Jennylyn admitted being deeply moved by ‘Green Bones’. “Napakahirap kong paiyakin, pero nang mapanood ko ang Green Bones, hagulgol talaga ako. Hanggang bahay, naiiyak ako,” she confessed.
When asked if Dennis’s win inspired her to take on more projects, she jokingly replied, “Mag-produce siguro ng maraming pelikula! Ha ha ha!”
Looking ahead, Jennylyn expressed excitement about her upcoming ventures. “Sa 2025, may lalabas akong album under Star Music. May soap akong gagawin sa GMA,” she revealed. Addressing questions about her loyalty to GMA Network, she clarified, “Wala pa lang official na contract signing, pero hindi naman ako aalis ng GMA.”
Jennylyn has been a steadfast Kapuso since she won as the Ultimate Survivor in GMA Network’s first-ever ‘Starstruck’ in 2003. Her most recent teleserye, ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’, concluded earlier this year.
As she prepares for her return to television, Jennylyn also shared her admiration for Dennis’s dedication to his craft. She witnessed firsthand how her husband juggled his demanding role in GMA Network’s primetime series ‘Pulang Araw’ and the equally challenging ‘Green Bones.’
“Minsan, umuuwi na siyang maduming-madumi mula sa set. Tapos, may magse-send pa sa akin ng mga eksena na, ‘Ma’am, binubugbog na naman siya,’” she recounted.
