‘Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11’ Big Winner Fyang Smith opened up about her journey and the unexpected surprises she encountered after stepping out of the PBB house.
In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez on the TFC show BRGY, Smith revealed that her victory only fully sank in during her guest appearance on ‘ASAP.’
“[Sa] ASAP po. Dun ko lang po talaga na-realize kasi grabe po ‘yung entrance,” Smith shared. She initially thought her treatment was a standard part of the Big 4 recognition but quickly realized otherwise. “Sabi ko bakit may ganito akong entrance? Sabi ko Big 4 din naman ako, so bakit parang may solo akong part? Sabi ko ay Big Winner pala ako and dun nag-sink in na sa akin okay I’m the Big Winner.”
Returning to life outside the PBB house brought another unexpected surprise: the passionate support of her fans. Smith was particularly stunned by the dedication of the JMFyang fandom.
“Wala akong idea po talaga kasi nga nasa loob kami parang casual lang, BFF, okay clingy pero ‘yung to the point na grabe ‘yung fandom ng JMFyang,” she said, marveling at the fan-made edits and tributes she encountered.
Smith admitted that the demands of her new schedule can be exhausting, but she remains thankful for the opportunities. “Nakakapagod po siyempre pero at the same time grateful ako na meron akong busy day kasi hindi naman po lahat nabibigyan ng ganitong opportunity,” she said.
Reflecting on her time in the PBB house, Smith shared that the experience helped her grow as a person.
“Siguro po the way na maging mindful na ako. Kasi before basta galaw lang po ako na kahit anong lumabas sa bibig ko, wala akong pakialam,” she admitted. Her time in the house taught her to be more considerate and mindful of her words and actions.
Smith emerged victorious in October with 30.66% of the votes, outperforming her fellow Big 4 members. Along with the prestigious title, she took home a P1 million cash prize and a brand-new house and lot.
The ‘Pinoy Big Brother: Gen 11’ journey may have ended, but for Fyang Smith, it marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities and growth. “Grateful ako,” she said, reflecting on the life-changing experience.
