Veteran actor Cesar Montano has expressed his admiration for businessman Atong Ang following his public admission of a romantic relationship with Sunshine Cruz, Cesar’s former wife.
In a recent interview, Cesar commended Atong for his openness about their relationship.
“Saludo ako kay Atong for being man enough to admit his relationship with Shine,” Cesar said.
The actor also extended his heartfelt wishes to the couple.
“I sincerely wish that they will live happily ever after. They both deserve to be happy,” he added.
Cesar emphasized the positive impact of Sunshine’s happiness on their family, particularly their three daughters.
“When Shine is happy, that means our three daughters are happy, too. And as a father, my daughters’ happiness is mine as well.”
The revelation comes after a video of Sunshine and Atong sharing a kiss circulated widely on social media, drawing significant public attention. Shortly after, Atong confirmed their relationship during an interview with Pinky Webb on Agenda, a program on the Bilyonaryo News Channel, on December 17.
Cesar and Sunshine ended their marriage in 2013, and their annulment was finalized in 2018. The former couple shares three daughters.
Following her annulment, Sunshine was in a six-year relationship with politician Macky Mathay, which ended in 2022. Cesar, meanwhile, is happily partnered with non-showbiz personality Kat Angeles.
Atong Ang has been linked in the past to Gretchen Barretto, with whom he was often seen at cockfighting events. However, both parties have neither confirmed nor denied any romantic involvement.
