Emerging Pinoy pop group 1621BC marked their first anniversary on November 26, 2024, with a thanksgiving and anniversary concert at Viva Cafe in Cubao, Quezon City.
The celebration served as a testament to the group’s growth, challenges, and aspirations as they embark on a new chapter in their career.
In a group interview, 1621BC leader JM reflected on the milestone, expressing gratitude for the group’s resilience and success.
“Sobrang saya po, sobrang grateful. Sobrang thankful po kami, sobrang blessed po kami kasi po hindi po lahat nabibigyan ng opportunity tumagal ng one year. ‘Yung iba po minsan nababawasan or nadidisband. Pero kami po, still intact. Thank you so much po,” JM said.
The group acknowledged the struggles they encountered in their first year, with member Win emphasizing the importance of trust and unity: “S’yempre marami po talaga kaming pinagdaanan on this journey po pero ang importante po nag-stay po kami nang matatag. May tiwala po sa isa’t isa. Feeling ko po ‘yun ang pinakaimportante po when it comes to a group.”
Migz shared the initial culture shock they experienced when entering the entertainment industry: “Siguro ‘yung mga experience po namin with media, sa mga tao. Bago po kami sa industriya, naculture shock po kami kung paano po ba ang mundong ginagalawan namin. At the same time, gumagabay po sa amin ‘yung management namin, family namin, and Guardians na nandiyan para sumuporta.”
1621BC has made their mark with popular tracks such as ‘TOFU: Think of You,’ ‘Ikaw at Ikaw,’ ‘Crush, Crush,’ and ‘Laruan.’ Over the past year, they’ve graced significant stages, including BINI’s ‘Grand Biniverse Concert’ at Araneta Coliseum and Agsunta’s 10th Anniversary Concert in Cavite.
The group also kicked off 2024 with a performance at GMA Network’s New Year Countdown and will return for the 2025 event to premiere their latest single.
Their anniversary concert featured special performances by OPM icons Jeremy Glinoga and Gloc-9, adding star power to the memorable evening.
As they close their first year, 1621BC is already setting their sights on the future. The group plans to release a new EP in 2025, collaborating with prominent songwriters to create fresh music for their growing fanbase.
This December 31, the group will take the stage once again at GMA Network’s New Year Countdown, performing their newest song as they welcome 2025.
