Actor Sandro Muhlach has broken his silence regarding his recent legal battle, expressing gratitude to the justice system for formally acknowledging his allegations of sexual assault.
Muhlach’s statement came after the Department of Justice filed criminal cases against two former television consultants, Jojo Tawasil Nones and Richard Dode Cruz, in connection with the alleged abuse.
In an emotional post on his Instagram story, Muhlach reflected on the courage it took to come forward, sharing the personal difficulty of disclosing his experience as a survivor of sexual assault and abuse.
“It was very difficult for me to tell my story — to come forward and tell the public that I was sexually assaulted and abused,” Muhlach wrote. He shared how the fears many victims have about speaking out became a reality, with the added burden of online criticism and bullying that he endured in the process.
“‘Yung mga kinakatakutan mangyari ng mga biktima, nangyari sa akin. In addition to the trauma that I suffered… I also had to endure online bullying and harsh and cruel criticisms,” he explained. Muhlach noted how some accused him of dishonesty due to a perceived lack of evidence, deepening his struggle to maintain composure and self-belief.
Despite these challenges, the actor said he remained hopeful, adding that he felt validated by the formal recognition of his case by the justice system. “Finally, our justice system has acknowledged the truth,” he affirmed.
In closing, Muhlach encouraged other survivors to stand up for themselves and refuse to be silenced. “For all the rape and sexual abuse victims out there, ‘wag nating hayaang manalo ang mga nagsamantala at bumaboy sa atin… Tayo rin ang papanigan ng katotohanan,” he concluded, urging victims to find strength in their stories.
The case has drawn significant public attention, and Muhlach’s statement has sparked further dialogue on support for survivors and the personal challenges they face in seeking justice.
