Veteran actor Mark Anthony Fernandez has addressed the controversy surrounding his leaked private video, months after it went viral on social media.
In an interview with journalist Julius Babao on his YouTube vlog, Fernandez revealed that the video was leaked after his cellphone was allegedly hacked by friends at a party.
Fernandez explained that the leak was the result of a manual hack by some of his female friends.
“Ang nangyari ay mano-manong hack sa party ng mga tropa kong babae kaya nagkaroon po ng leakage…na-open (‘yung cellphone), nakuha (‘yung video),” the actor shared.
When asked whether the video was related to any of his acting projects, Fernandez clarified that it was a personal recording. “Hindi po. Lumang, lumang video na siya ng adventure namin ‘nung GF ko po noon time na ‘yun,” he said.
The actor confirmed that he was featured in parts of the video but claimed that some portions had been edited.
“‘Yung kamukha ko, ako ‘yun pero ‘yung hindi nakikita mukha ko, hindi ako ‘yun,” he said with a laugh.
Despite the personal nature of the video, Fernandez appeared unfazed by the incident. He said he wasn’t angry with the friends who leaked the video and even found some positives in the public’s reaction. “Magagalit ako kung ‘yung edited version is mukha akong masama…buti na lang pinakita na siya (girl) ‘yung may hawak, hindi ako ‘yung may hawak (ng camera),” he explained.
Fernandez also admitted that he initially felt anxious about the scandal but decided to let the issue subside before speaking out. “Minabuti ko na pong maging silent muna kasi sari-sari ‘yung (komento) so hinayaan ko munang mag-meltdown ng konti,” he said.
The video, which surfaced in July, quickly trended online, with netizens expressing shock and fascination. Many praised Fernandez’s physique, with some social media users making light-hearted comments about his appearance.
Despite the controversy, the actor remains focused on his career and personal growth, taking the incident in stride as he moves forward.
