The cast and crew of ‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan,’ led by Kapuso action star Ruru Madrid, have officially begun filming for the highly anticipated second season of the popular adventure series.
Joining Madrid on set are co-stars Martin del Rosario, Paul Salas, and Shaira Diaz.
The new season promises to continue the thrilling journey of Lolong as he works to protect the peaceful town of Tumahan, this time facing an unseen enemy whose growing influence threatens the harmony between humans and the mystical Atubaw race, to which Lolong belongs.
With his giant crocodile ally, Dakila, by his side, Lolong will encounter new dangers and challenges as he fights to uphold peace.
‘Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan’ returns after a highly successful first season, which premiered on July 4, 2022, with a strong 17.7% rating and concluded with a 19.3% rating on September 30, 2022, according to AGB Nielsen Philippines. The series quickly became a primetime favorite and 2022’s most-watched TV show, competing head-to-head with Coco Martin’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’
With Lolong returning to GMA Prime in 2025, it is expected to take over the timeslot of ‘Pulang Araw,’ making it GMA Network’s major new year opener. The show will face fierce competition from ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ Coco Martin’s latest primetime offering, setting the stage for an exciting year in Philippine television.
