The controversy surrounding Kapuso actor Ken Chan continues to escalate as his former business partner, Mark Wei, responded to Ken’s recent statement denying allegations of syndicated estafa.
The case stems from their failed business venture, Café Claus, which left investors and employees allegedly uncompensated.
Through Instagram Stories, Mark openly criticized Ken’s statement, describing it as misleading.
“Okay, wait, ako naman magsalita soon. Lakas mangbaliktad. Hindi malulugi kung sa negosyo napunta ang pera at hindi sa bulsa,” Mark wrote, accompanied by laughing emojis.
Mark also questioned Ken’s alleged reluctance to face the legal proceedings. “Why hide and seek? Why may probable cause if nalugi? Hay, showbiz nga naman,” he remarked.
The former business partner emphasized that their accusations are backed by evidence, adding, “All of our accusations are grounded in legal principles and supported by evidence. Kaya nga may warrant na, ’diba?”
He also called on Ken to address the matter in court, asserting, “Harapin mo na lang kami. Kung inosente ka talaga, let’s put it in the proper forum sa court.”
Mark revealed that more complaints are being prepared against Ken, vowing to seek justice not only for himself but also for employees who were allegedly affected by the venture’s downfall.
“We won’t stop until we find justice, not just for me, but also for the employees who have suffered deeply,” Mark stated.
In his statement to the public, Mark urged people to be cautious and not to support wrongdoing. “Hindi lahat ng matatamis na salita ay totoo,” he said.
Earlier this week, Ken released a statement denying all accusations and asserting that he is prepared to face the charges legally. He described the allegations as false and exaggerated, attributing the business failure to unforeseen circumstances.
“Lumalaban po ako at hindi tumatakbo palayo sa isinampang kaso sa akin. Mahigit isang dekada kong pinaghirapan ang aking career at hindi dahil sa akusasyon ng iilan ang magtatapos ng napakagandang future na inilaan para sa akin ng Panginoon,” Ken said in his post.
Ken also called on his supporters to include him in their prayers, promising to fight for his reputation and career.
The syndicated estafa case filed against Ken involves allegations of mishandling funds and misrepresentation. A warrant of arrest has reportedly been issued, although attempts to serve it have been unsuccessful.
As both parties stand firm in their positions, the legal proceedings will determine the outcome of the case, with Mark pushing for accountability and Ken defending his innocence.
