Kathryn Bernardo offered a fresh perspective on second chances during a recent vlog episode with ‘Hello, Love, Again’ co-star Alden Richards, revealing how her views on forgiveness and trust have evolved.
In October, during the ‘Hello, Love, Again’ press conference, Kathryn reflected thoughtfully on the concept of second chances:
“For me, forgiveness or second chances isn’t an obligation; it’s a choice and a gift. So, kapag binigay sa ’yo ‘yun ng tao, it’s a privilege. Just like any gift, you have to take care of that, and you have to earn that gift.”
In a playful segment of the Rec-Create vlog, Alden brought up the question again while playing a lie detector game, asking Kathryn, “Naniniwala ka ba sa second chances?”
Her initial response, “Hirap naman, no na lang,” drew laughter, but the lie detector buzzed, challenging her answer.
Laughing at the result, Kathryn explained why her answer was initially “no”:
“Kasi sobrang hirap ibalik ‘yung tiwala ko. In general, siyempre, we all deserve second chances, we all want to have second chances. Depende kasi. It’s a case-to-case basis. Kung ano ’yung nagawa mo, kung gaano mo nasaktan ’yung tao, and kung magbabago ka ba.”
She added, “It’s who you give your second chances to,” agreeing with Alden that “not everyone deserves it.”
The vlog took a lighthearted turn when Alden asked Kathryn, “Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go on a date with me?”
Kathryn replied honestly, “Yeah, I think so. Parang nakaka-curious paano ka makipag-date.”
When the lie detector once again indicated a lie, she explained her curiosity: “I actually have no idea; that’s why I’m curious. Hindi ko alam kung paano siya makipag-date, so I wonder. Romantic ba siya? Medyo ano ba siya? Iba iba kase ang style ng mga guys, right?”
Kathryn then asked Alden, “Compatible kaya tayo?” While Alden confidently answered “yes,” the lie detector disagreed, sparking laughter.
The candid and fun exchange between Kathryn and Alden gave fans a glimpse into their off-screen chemistry, complementing their highly praised performances in ‘Hello, Love, Again.’ Fans also noted Kathryn’s thoughtful and relatable take on second chances, solidifying her image as both introspective and authentic.
