Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards shared their thoughts on the pressure and anticipation surrounding their upcoming film ‘Hello, Love, Again,’ set to release on November 13.
The film is a sequel to the box-office sensation ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye,’ and marks the first collaboration between Star Cinema and GMA Pictures.
During an interview on ’24 Oras,’ Kathryn admitted the speed of the project’s development has left her feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. “Medyo mabilis lahat ng nangyari so it’s just sinking in now I think. And I’m pretty nervous,” she shared.
Alden acknowledged the challenges of creating a sequel for a film that set such a high standard. “Actually in all projects naman, most especially this project, since this is very special to both of us, the pressure of you know kasi may tinitingnan na benchmark from the previous film eh. Of course there’s gonna be comparison in a way and siyempre ‘yung pressure of the box office etc. But it is for the people to decide and it’s for them to really, by word of mouth, to tell if the movie is worth watching,” he said.
The two actors expressed gratitude for the comfort of working alongside each other. “I think it is just very comforting to know that I am not doing this alone because like what I said kanina grabe lang siguro ‘yung sobrang kinakabahan sa lahat ng mangyayari so it is just nice na feeling ko ngayon hindi ko lang siya mag-isa hinaharap, kasi kasama ko si Alden,” Kathryn added.
When asked about a possible third installment, both Kathryn and Alden hinted that ‘Hello, Love, Again’ could mark the end of Joy and Ethan’s journey. “I think this will put an end,” Kathryn said, with Alden adding, “Pagpahingahin na natin sila kasi parang they have been through a lot but on our point of view maybe it’s time to say goodbye to Joy and Ethan but what if, the what if, but we can’t tell. But for us personally parang okay na.”
‘Hello, Love, Again’ aims to answer lingering questions from the first film and promises to deliver a fulfilling close to Joy and Ethan’s story. Fans can catch the movie in theaters beginning November 13.
