Heart Evangelista shared insights about her upbringing and career journey in a recent episode of her reality series, ‘Heart World.’
Despite being born into a privileged family, Heart emphasized the value of discipline and hard work instilled by her parents.
Heart, whose family owns the well-known Filipino restaurant chain Barrio Fiesta, spoke candidly about growing up with financial comfort. However, she clarified that her parents ensured she and her siblings understood the importance of earning their achievements.
“Don’t get me wrong, ina-acknowledge ko talaga ‘yung idea na pinanganak akong privileged,” Heart said. “Pero, siyempre, dinisiplina rin kami. Spoiled kami in a sense na lahat binibigay sa ‘min, pero sobrang thankful ako dahil ‘yung tatay ko, magaling din siyang magdisiplina.”
Heart’s journey to becoming a global icon involved years of hard work in the entertainment industry. Starting her career as a teen actress, she eventually expanded her influence to the fashion world, earning the title of Style Icon.
“Kailangan maging thankful ka kung anong meron ka, pero kailangan hardworking ka,” she said. “Kung may gusto ka, kailangan pagtrabahuhan mo ‘yun. Kailangan ‘yung talagang deserve mo bago mo siya makuha.”
She also highlighted the struggles she faced along the way, including moments of self-doubt.
“In fact, dumating na nga ako sa point na meron na akong impostor’s syndrome, ‘yung feeling mo ‘di ka deserving na makuha ‘to,” Heart admitted. “But, as time goes by, I give myself a pat on the back and remind myself that I deserve it. I didn’t just work hard for it—I fought for it.”
Now a prominent figure in both entertainment and fashion, Heart continues to inspire others with her story of resilience, humility, and dedication. She recently showcased her achievements in Heart World, including a glimpse of her Paris apartment, which she acquired after decades of hard work in the industry.
Her message to viewers and fans: success comes not just from privilege but from the discipline and determination to achieve one’s dreams. Catch ‘Heart World’ every Saturday at 9:30 PM on GMA Network and Kapuso Stream.
