Heart Evangelista has opened up about a difficult chapter in her life, recounting a painful betrayal by people she once considered loyal allies.
In the latest episode of her lifestyle show ‘Heart World,’ Heart became emotional as she looked back on the experience that left a lasting impact on her life and self-worth.
“I really felt like maybe, to a point, na minsan hanggang ngayon, ‘di ko pa rin ma-forgive ‘yung sarili ko kasi at the end of the day, kahit sila ‘yung mga kasama ko no’n, ako pa rin ang gumawa,” Heart said, referring to the decisions she made during that challenging period.
The betrayal, which Heart described as feeling like a personal attack from within, deeply shook her. “Sobrang sakit itong part na ‘to kasi I felt like I was sleeping with my most loyal soldiers, but I woke up as a ghost. They killed me in my sleep,” she revealed.
Heart admitted that the pain came from trusting and loving those who ultimately let her down. “Kasi kung mapapakita ko ‘yung worst side ko sa kanila, I thought mananaig ‘yung pinakita kong puso ko sa kanila. So ‘yun ‘yung pinakamasakit,” she added.
Despite the heartache, Heart shared that she has moved past the experience, though forgiving herself remains a work in progress. She also highlighted how the ordeal brought her and her husband, Senator Chiz Escudero, closer. “And because of what I went through, nothing, nothing will break Chiz and I,” she said.
Heart’s revelations came during ‘Heart World,’ a GMA Network show that delves into her life, career, and passions. In its debut episode on October 26, Heart shared stories about meeting South Korean superstar Song Hye Kyo and reflected on the disciplined upbringing she had as a child.
‘Heart World’ airs every Saturday at 9:30 p.m., immediately following ‘Magpakailanman’ on GMA Network.
