After more than two years on air, GMA Network’s top-rated afternoon drama “Abot Kamay Na Pangarap (AKNP)” has finally concluded, ending on a high note as it maintained its ratings lead until its finale.
With AKNP’s absence, the question arises: can the Kapuso afternoon lineup continue its dominance in the ratings game?
According to the latest Nielsen NUTAM People survey, GMA Afternoon Prime programs have continued to perform well following AKNP’s finale on Saturday, October 19. “Lilet Matias” has now taken over AKNP’s slot, while “Shining Inheritance” and the newest series “Forever Young” have also shown promising ratings.
On Monday, October 21, “Shining Inheritance” climbed to the 6th spot on the overall ratings chart, surpassing “Lilet Matias”, which dropped to 8th place. “Shining Inheritance” scored 8.3 percent, “Lilet Matias” 8.0 percent, and “Forever Young” debuted at 10th with a 7.1 percent rating.
On Tuesday, October 22, “Shining Inheritance” moved up one spot to 5th with an 8.1 percent rating, while “Lilet Matias” improved to 6th with 7.9 percent. “Forever Young” held steady at 10th with a 6.8 percent rating.
On Wednesday, October 23, “Lilet Matias” reclaimed the lead in afternoon programming, taking 6th place with 9.0 percent, while “Shining Inheritance” followed at 7th with 8.5 percent. “Forever Young” remained stable at 10th with 7.2 percent.
On Thursday, October 24, “Shining Inheritance” surged to the top of afternoon programming with an 8.5 percent rating in 5th place, followed by “Lilet Matias” at 6th with 8.4 percent. “Forever Young” improved to 8th with 7.8 percent.
By the end of the first week without AKNP, “Lilet Matias” led once more with an 8.7 percent rating, ranking 5th, followed by “Shining Inheritance” at 6th with 8.2 percent, and “Forever Young” at 10th with 6.8 percent.
With afternoon programming still unchallenged for GMA Network, the network is likely to retain its ratings reign, though leadership now alternates between the two top GMA afternoon dramas.
