Renowned multi-award-winning director Frank Lloyd Mamaril has officially added “recording artist” to his list of achievements with the release of his debut single, ‘Made to Believe.’
The song, co-written with emerging composer Kier and arranged by Kiko Salazar and Alas, carries an uplifting message of resilience and self-belief. Mamaril, best known for directing high-profile concerts and multimedia productions, launched the single at a press event held at Corte Bar in Tomas Morato.
During the event, Mamaril reflected on his early years in music, recalling his journey from singing contests to television competitions. He shared how rejection during ABS-CBN’s ‘Star in a Million’ inspired him to persevere.
“May nagsabi sa akin, ‘Hindi ka para dito.’ Ang sinabi ko, ‘You don’t know what you’re missing,’” Mamaril recounted.
This experience fueled his determination to make a mark in the entertainment industry, leading him to shift his focus to video production.

Although his passion for music took a backseat, Mamaril continued to nurture his love for singing. He represented the Philippines at the Metro Toronto Pop International Music Festival in 2004, even as his career as a director flourished.
As a director, Mamaril earned acclaim for his work with ABS-CBN and later as the founder of FLM Creatives and Productions Inc. His portfolio includes sold-out concerts such as Darren D10 Concert (2024), Aegis DobleDekada (2018), and Gigi de Lana’s Domination US-Middle East Tour.
His achievements have been recognized with awards such as Director of the Year at the 2018 Asia Leaders Awards and a PMPC Star Award for Music for Lani Misalucha’s Love Catcher Concert.
Despite his success in the creative field, Mamaril’s love for music never faded. A spontaneous backstage duet with Concert King Martin Nievera reignited his desire to sing. Encouraged by the positive feedback, he collaborated with Kier to create ‘Made to Believe.’
“It’s a song about embracing your dreams and believing in your potential,” Mamaril said. “It’s a message that resonates with me personally, and I hope it inspires others too.”
The song has been met with praise from industry veterans. Prolific composer Cecile Azarcon commended Mamaril for sharing his talent with the world, while legendary musical director Homer Flores described him as a trailblazer.
“Ikaw lang ang director na may released na song,” Flores said.
Now available on major streaming platforms, ‘Made to Believe’ marks a new milestone in Mamaril’s multifaceted career. The single is distributed exclusively by FLM Creatives and Productions Inc. and has already garnered attention for its inspiring message and powerful vocals.
