Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin recently opened up about his reluctance to celebrate his birthday, tracing it back to a painful childhood experience.
In a candid interview with Ogie Diaz on his YouTube vlog, the ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ star also shared the reason behind his frequent use of sunglasses during public appearances.
Born on November 1, Coco Martin revealed that he has avoided celebrating his birthday since childhood due to a traumatic experience.
He described how seeing his mother’s sadness deeply affected him.
Despite his preference for low-key birthdays, his ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo’ co-workers recently surprised him with a celebration on set.
“Nahihiya ako hindi talaga ako sanay. Hindi ko rin maintindhan siguro umaano sa atensyon pero siyempe haharapin mo at nahihiya ako lalo na kapag naimbitahan ka at magsasalita sobrang nahihiya ako,” he said.
Coco remains at the forefront of primetime television with ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ now in its second year. Serving as lead actor, line producer, and director, Coco’s dedication has propelled the show to sustained success.
