Caltex workshop customers will soon be enjoying world-class service while helping employ underprivileged youths.
Chevron Philippines Inc.(CPI), marketer of the Caltex fuel and lubricants, recently entered into a new partnership with Don Bosco – One TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) and the American Chamber Foundation Philippines, Inc. (AmCham Foundation).
Under this partnership, Don Bosco will provide Chevron with a list of TESDA-certified graduates for employment in Caltex-branded workshops. Workshop owners have the opportunity to recruit skilled mechanics from Don Bosco Training Centers situated in strategically important locations across the country. Furthermore, mechanic training programs will be available at these centers in Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Manila, Makati, Laguna, Alabang, Albay, Cebu, Iloilo, Eastern Samar, and Davao Oriental.
Don Bosco will develop and offer a 2-day Refresher Course and a 5-day Training Course for existing mechanics at Caltex-branded workshops to be conducted at Don Bosco’s training centers. Three courses are offered: Motorcycle and Small Engine Servicing (MSES), Automotive Servicing, and Automotive NC I and NC II Engine Repair. The goal of these short courses is to improve and enhance the skills of mechanics, enabling them to deliver excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
This initiative aligns with Caltex’s vision of establishing numerous branded workshops, ensuring that motorists have convenient access to genuine Caltex lubricants and receive high-quality mechanical services.
“This program will fully support and provide top-notch technical mechanic services. We will be able to place scholars and other graduates in various workshops, which will also help enhance our value-added services,” said Larry Tiglao, Chevron’s Indirect Channel Finished Lubricants Manager
Chevron and AMCHAM Foundation have a long history of partnership by providing learning and livelihood to hundreds of disadvantaged youths.
“We are very proud of this partnership. I am very thankful to Chevron for our longstanding relationship. Through this program, more people will be able to benefit,” said Edwin Feist, President of American Chamber Foundation Philippines Inc.
“Helping a student, whether one or twenty, means supporting a generation, as this approach is sustainable and aligns with our mission at Don Bosco. We cannot continue our mission without the support of our partners, and we are truly grateful to AMCHAM and Caltex for enabling us to extend assistance and support to many individuals,” added Fr. Jose Dindo Vitug, SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco – One TVET Philippines Inc.
Caltex sends existing mechanics at Don Bosco Training centers to train and improve competency effectively to provide better, higher-quality services to the motoring public at Caltex Branded Workshops. Chevron takes pride in advancing its vision of being a global energy company, and with its strong partnerships with these institutions, Chevron will continue to provide quality energy solutions.
