Actor Alden Richards, fresh off the success of his blockbuster film ‘Hello, Love, Again,’ has revealed he is open to love but uncertain about how to navigate a romantic relationship after years of focusing on his career.
In an interview on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda’, Alden shared that he’s been single since high school and wonders how he would handle a relationship now.
“I’ve been single for the longest time and I don’t know how I am in a relationship right now than my first one because ‘yong una ko po was way back when I was in high school. And parang na-focus po ako sa work,” he admitted.
When asked by host Boy Abunda if he was afraid of falling in love again, Alden candidly responded, “In a way po that’s part of it po, e. It’s also a hello for me in a good way. What will happen? What will change within me.”
The actor added that he’s ready to take the leap, explaining that stepping outside of his comfort zone is crucial for growth.
“Kapag lagi kang nasa comfort zone mo, there’s no growth in there. Walang paglaki sa pagkatao. Walang pagdiskubre sa mga bagay na ‘di mo pa nasusubukan.”
The interview comes amid the massive success of ‘Hello, Love, Again,’ the sequel to the 2019 hit ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye.’ Alden stars opposite Kathryn Bernardo, and their onscreen pairing has set the box office ablaze.
The film has already earned P245 million in its first three days in Philippine cinemas, making it the highest domestic opening for a local film. In the U.S., ‘Hello, Love, Again’ grossed $2.4 million during its opening weekend, claiming the No. 8 spot in the box office, as reported by Deadline.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the movie’s success has reaffirmed the duo’s global appeal. ‘Hello, Love, Again’ is slated for release in the Middle East on November 21, expanding its reach to countries including the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain.
During the interview, Boy Abunda also asked if Alden was romantically pursuing his co-star Kathryn Bernardo. While Alden smiled and avoided a direct answer, the question further fueled fans’ curiosity about their undeniable chemistry on and off-screen.
