Kapuso singer Zephanie Dimaranan has addressed rumors about her alleged romantic involvement with fellow Kapuso actor Michael Sager during her recent guest appearance on ‘Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.’
The singer clarified that while they had a close friendship, there was no romantic relationship or breakup between them.
During the episode, Zephanie and her ‘MAKA’ co-star Dylan Menor were asked if they would fight for the person they love or follow their parents’ advice in a relationship. Both stars said they would choose love, prompting Boy Abunda to ask Zephanie if she fought for Michael Sager, who was once linked to her romantically.
Zephanie explained the nature of their friendship, saying, “I think we really tried to maintain whatever we had before, but I believe that friendships and relationships are often seasonal. For me, I’m really content and fulfilled with the season we had.”
When pressed about whether they had a bad breakup, Zephanie clarified that no such thing happened. “Wala naman nangyaring breakup, just to clear it out,” she said. “I think our friendship naturally changed over time, but there’s no bad blood between us.”
Zephanie also shared that despite the changes in their friendship, they continue to work together on ‘All-Out Sundays’ and maintain a positive relationship. “We’re still able to work together, and it’s a nice feeling to be able to do that,” she added.
Earlier in 2023, Zephanie had mentioned in a previous ‘Fast Talk’ interview that she found Michael attractive and referred to him as one of her best friends. She also sang the theme song for the Kapuso series ‘Luv Is: Caught in His Arms,’ where Michael was part of the cast.
Zephanie is currently starring in the GMA Public Affairs teen show ‘MAKA,’ alongside Dylan Menor, Ashley Sarmiento, Marco Masa, John Clifford, and Olive May. The show airs every Saturday at 4:45 p.m. on GMA Network.
