Veteran TV host Willie Revillame has come under fire after admitting he has no legislative proposals yet, despite filing his candidacy for senator in the 2025 midterm elections.
In a recent interview on ‘The Big Story’ with Gretchen Ho, Revillame said he would only begin formulating plans if he wins the election.
His exact words, “‘Pag nanalo ako, dun ko na iisipin lahat ‘yun”, sparked criticism from various sectors questioning his readiness for public office.
Willie Revillame is full of ****. Another Robinhood po ito. Saka na raw ang plataporma pag binoto sya. E di wag nating iboto. Please. pic.twitter.com/BRRKmv1GzB

Revillame filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) on October 8, the last day of the filing period. This marks his first attempt at running for a Senate seat, a move that surprised many as he did not announce any specific platform or policy agenda ahead of his bid.
Critics pointed out that seeking a national position without a clear plan or vision could undermine public trust.
TUMATAKBONG WALANG PLANO??

Unlike his political stance during the 2022 elections—when he declined an offer from former President Rodrigo Duterte to run under his slate—Revillame is running independently in this election cycle. In the previous national elections, Revillame backed the Tutok to Win Partylist, which garnered over 685,000 votes, a name inspired by his popular online game show during the pandemic.
Revillame’s showbiz career has also seen recent developments. After ending his contract with GMA Network in February 2022, where his hit show ‘Wowowin’ aired, he moved the program to ALLTV, a channel owned by the Villar family. However, the show concluded its run in April 2023. Just a few months later, in April 2024, Revillame signed a new deal with TV5, marking his return to the network.
Despite the backlash, Revillame remains undeterred as he embarks on his Senate run. Supporters of the TV host believe his long-standing connection with the masses, built through his philanthropic work on his shows, could resonate with voters. Still, many political observers are watching closely to see whether Revillame will present a concrete legislative agenda as the campaign season unfolds.
