Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. personally traveled to Naga and surrounding areas in Camarines Sur to offer condolences and support to residents devastated by Typhoon Kristine. During his visit, Revilla expressed deep sympathy for those who lost loved ones and homes in the aftermath of the storm.
“Mula po sa akin, kasama na ang aking pamilya, ay gusto ko pong ipaabot sa inyo aming mahigpit na pagyakap! Hindi po kayo nag-iisa sa mga panahon na to. Kasama niyo kaming titindig para sa inyong muling pagbangon,” Revilla stated. The senator’s visit comes as the Bicol region mourns the loss of 28 lives and faces widespread destruction, with 78 areas placed under a state of calamity.
Revilla encouraged residents to remain hopeful despite the tragedy, urging them to come together in resilience. “Napakahirap po ng pinagdaan ng bawat isa. Sobrang nakakahabag ng puso ang sinapit ng ating mga kababayan. Nakakalungkot. Sa totoo lang po, hindi ko lubos maisip ang tindi at hirap na nararanasan ngayon. Ang sakit isipin ang sinapit ng ating mga kababayan,” he said.
Revilla also distributed relief packs, water, and other essentials to those affected by the typhoon. The senator noted that the delay in aid distribution was due to impassable roads and damaged bridges caused by the storm’s fury.
“Basta tatandaan niyo po, hindi tayo dapat mawalan ng pag-asa. Tuloy po ang buhay at hindi po kayo mag–iisa sa pagbangon at muling pagsisimula,” Revilla added, reaffirming his commitment to help the people of Camarines Sur recover from the disaster.
