Country’s Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual recently shared a candid moment about his experience working with comedy legend Vic Sotto in the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry, ‘The Kingdom.’
In our interview during his visit to the Beautéderm Headquarters in Angeles City, Pampanga, Pascual revealed that acting alongside Sotto made him nervous and even left him stuttering on set.
Pascual, who has long admired Sotto, admitted feeling intimidated by the veteran actor during their first scenes together.
“Nakaka-intimidate. Lumaki akong Vic Sotto fan. Lahat ng pelikula niya sa film fest ay pinapanood ko. Nanginginig at nauutal ako nu’ng una pero kailangan mong panindigan,” he said. He added that being able to act alongside Sotto was a dream come true and one of the highlights of his career.
‘The Kingdom,’ directed by Michael Tuviera, marks Sotto’s return to the MMFF stage after five years. The film, which is set to premiere on December 25, is an action-drama—a genre switch for both Pascual and Sotto. Fans are eager to see the collaboration, as it is Sotto’s first major MMFF project since 2019’s ‘Mission Unstapabol: The Don Identity.’
In addition to promoting ‘The Kingdom,’ Pascual visited Beautéderm to celebrate the brand’s 15th anniversary. Pascual, who endorses Beautéderm’s oral care line, expressed his gratitude for being part of the Beautéderm family and bonding with its loyal consumers.
Beautéderm founder and CEO Rhea Tan praised Pascual’s loyalty and authenticity as a brand ambassador, saying, “Piolo is one of the most credible endorsers in the Philippines. He genuinely uses the products, and we are grateful for his loyalty. Everyone loves him here at Beautéderm. He’s sincere, smart, and passionate.”
Pascual’s partnership with Beautéderm has lasted five years, and his presence at the event reinforced the strong connection between the actor and the brand. Meanwhile, ‘The Kingdom’ promises to be a standout entry in the MMFF, and fans of Pascual and Sotto are already looking forward to seeing this unexpected pairing on the big screen.
