Veteran singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid is thrilled to announce that his eldest daughter, Leila Alcasid, is now engaged to her long-time boyfriend, musician Mito Fabie, better known by his stage name Curtismith.
Leila took to Instagram on Sunday to share the exciting news, posting a series of heartwarming photos featuring her and Mito, including one where she proudly displayed her engagement ring. In the caption, Leila described the engagement as “the most special anniversary gift.”
Ogie, who shares Leila with former beauty queen Michelle van Eimeren, was one of the first to comment on the post, expressing his immense joy. “The Lord bless you both. I am truly beyond happy for you two. Love you. Congratulations,” he wrote. Mito, in response, warmly thanked his future father-in-law, replying, “@ogiealcasid thanks so much Tito. Love you!!”
Leila and Mito, who have been living together since the height of the pandemic, have openly shared their relationship journey. Ogie had previously expressed mixed emotions regarding his daughter’s decision to move in with her boyfriend. In an interview, he revealed that as a parent, it was difficult to accept at first.
“I was upset at the time,” Ogie admitted during an episode of ‘It’s Showtime’. “I told them, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ But I realized that young adults will make their own decisions, and the more you try to stop them, the more determined they become.”
Now, with Leila and Mito set to tie the knot, Ogie is overjoyed to see their relationship take this significant step forward. The engagement brings him happiness, as their union will soon be official.
The couple has yet to announce their wedding date, but excitement is already building for what promises to be a special celebration for the Alcasid and Fabie families.
